1. Who we are

Diet Decoder is operated by NORPS ("the operator"). For any privacy question or request, contact us at me@shivamyadav.dev.

2. Information we collect

We only collect what we need to log your meals and give you nutrition insights:

• Account identifiers — your messaging-platform user ID and display name (from Discord or WhatsApp) and the channel we reply to.
• Messages you send us — the text and voice notes you send to log meals, ask questions, or set preferences.
• Meal and nutrition data — the foods you log, their quantities and times, and the nutrition values we calculate.
• Profile information you choose to share — your name, an optional profile photo, and optional body metrics (age or date of birth, height, weight, sex, activity level) used to personalize your targets.
• Goals and preferences — nutrition goals and which metrics you want tracked.
• Usage metadata — timestamps and message identifiers used to process and de-duplicate your messages.

We do not collect payment-card details, government IDs, or precise location.

3. Voice messages

If you send a voice note, we convert the speech to text so we can read the meal you described. We may retain the transcription (and the audio) to process your meal and improve accuracy.

4. How we use your information

• To understand your messages and log your meals;
• To match foods to a nutrition database and calculate calories and nutrients;
• To personalize your goals and send daily, weekly, and monthly reports;
• To send reminders and tips (which you can turn off at any time);
• To operate, maintain, debug, and improve the Service.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. How your information is shared

• Messaging platforms — to receive and send messages, your data passes through Discord and/or WhatsApp (Meta), subject to their own privacy policies.
• Service providers — we use trusted infrastructure and AI processing services to transcribe voice, understand messages, and operate the Service; they process data only to provide the Service to us.
• Legal reasons — we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the operator.

6. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as you use the Service or as needed to provide it. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see Section 8).

7. Data security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your rights and choices

• Access or correct your information — message the bot or email us;
• Turn off reminders/notifications at any time;
• Request deletion of your data — email me@shivamyadav.dev or message the bot, and we will delete your personal data within a reasonable time, except where we must retain it to comply with the law.

9. Children's privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 16 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children; if you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International users

The Service is operated from India and times are handled in Indian Standard Time (IST). By using the Service, you understand your information may be processed in India and other countries where our providers operate.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above, and significant changes may be communicated through the Service.
